घावन
• १ कप तांदळाचं पीठ
• २ कप पाणी
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• जरुरीनुसार तेल
चटणी
• २ टेबलस्पून पंढरपुरी डाळं
• १/२ कप खोवलेलं ओलं खोबरं
• ३~४ हिरव्या मिरच्या
• १/२” आलं
• १ लसूण पाकळी
• चवीनुसार मीठ
• कोथिंबीर

Ingredients:
Ghavan
• 1 cup Rice flour
• 2 cups Water
• Salt to taste
• Oil as needed
Chutney
• 2 tbsp roasted Chana dal
• 1/2 cup grated fresh Coconut
• 3~4 Green chilies
• 1/2” Ginger
• 1 Garlic clove
• Salt to taste
• Coriander leaves
• Water as needed
• 1 tsp Oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Hing
• Curry leaves
• 2 Red chilies

Method:
Ghavan
• Mix rice flour, water and salt well together to make runny batter. No lumps of rice flour should be
formed.
• Cover and rest the batter for about 10 minutes.
• You can immediately make ghavan if you want.
• Heat up a skillet on high heat and spread oil on it.
• Mix the batter well once and pour a ladleful batter starting along the edge of the pan and end up at
the center.
• Cover and cook the ghavan for just about 15-20 seconds.
• Remove the lid and roast the ghavan along the edges.
• When the edges begin to leave the skillet, take it off on a wire rack. Ghavan is ready.
• Serve it with chutney or tea or kalya vatanyache sambar.
• You can make 8 ghavan of 9” diameter.
Chutney
• Blend roasted chana dal, fresh coconut, green chilies, ginger, garlic, salt and coriander leaves well
together into coarse paste. Avoid use of water this time.
• Add water and blend it well into chutney.
• Take the chutney out into a bowl.
• For tadka, heat up oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds.
• When mustard seeds pop up, turn the gas off and add cumin seeds, hing, curry leaves and red
chilies.
• Mix well and add this tadka into the chutney.
• Mix well and chutney is ready.
