  1. That Columbus story sounds like bullshit to me. The Taino Indians were descended from tribes in South America, who were famous astronomers. I find it hard to believe that they had never seen or even heard of an eclipse. I find it easier to believe that the story was made up to demonstrate how “backwards” the natives were and how clever Columbus was. Perhaps it was an attempt to rehabilitate Columbus’ reputation. He was known to be a terrible man even in his lifetime. His present fame is a result of Italian immigrants in the early 20th century, angry at the apparent success of Black civil rights movements.

  2. The only remaining Tudor buildings to survive the Great Fire of London are within the Tower of London and only survived due to the castle's moat and walls. However, some other historical buildings have managed to survive the Great Fire as well despite being outside the castle's defenses.

  3. 54:13 Interesting. I've talked to Native Americans in the Southwest US, notably the Ute, Piute, Apache, and Navajo, whose ancestral stories tell how their peoples originally came from the south, NOT the north (across the Bering Land Bridge).

In light of this new genetic information, more research might prove their ancestral stories are true.
