The Chinese People’s Liberation Army is at it again with yet another unusual MRE that is actually worth checking out and noting as an improvement to the older PLA field rations. It’s a well balanced meal and albeit not perfectly palatable, I would still say it’s serviceable enough for war.

That's not ham in the rice. That's Chinese dried sausage. That's why it has that sweet smell.
The meat in the rice looks like Chinese sausage. Its sweet, salty and very fatty.
Even China has better MREs than the US. Crazy.
