  1. 1:01:37 wow i heard nobody ever say this! bullseye!!!

"Actually the iPhone's always gone wrong with the choice architecture when they've added the iPhone 5C and they've added low margin iPhones under pressure from typically the investor Community who say "you're too expensive you need to produce a low cost variant" forgetting the fact that the low cost variant of the iPhone is your dad's old iPhone"

"people would rather have a 3 year old iPhone than have a brand new iPhone that says "i'm not a real iPhone"."

  2. I am really good at marketing. I am really good at operations (developing great products). But I CANNOT do both in my own business! So I can consult as marketer to other people. So what is going on here, what is the psychology? I have been running up against the problem , for years in my own business, and instead of accepting it , I just think I am less than adequate.
I would be really interested if anyone has advice or similar experiences

  3. Is anyone familiar with Dan Kennedy? There is a great overlap with Rory – but Dan Kennedy has come across to UK people as a naff infomercial kind of guy. I really recommend him If you like Rory as the philosophies are really similar, although additionally Dan gives more actual step by step of how to actually change your business

  4. I agree with the fact that schools could have a mini MBA . i did an actual MBA, it taught me some great stuff – HOWEVER – the business and selling at the front end i.e. getting a product or service and selling it to someone did not exist. It was like the concept of cash and handing over money for something was seen as dirty. To be honest we had bankers and HR coming from all over the world who had no experience of selling, and maybe they didnt want to, but in the end the core business activity of getting someone to hand over to dosh was completely neglected. Its another reason why the customer comes last. I think a good activity would be for the first week to get everyone to work in corner shop or fish and chip shop
