24hrs Inside a Y Combinator Startup in Silicon Valley

I’m back in Silicon Valley, this time with the founders of Fuse AI, Imogen and Saurav, working on a voice cloning solution that could reshape the sales process for businesses around the globe.

In this episode, I sit down with Saurav and Imogen as they prepare to ship a product that uses AI to become an extension of yourself, not just a tool. But that’s not the biggest takeaway…

Somewhere in between fixing bugs and late night product talks, one conversation stopped me cold: The success of every early-stage startup? It comes down to 4 letters.

This episode is a deep dive into what actually drives results. and why even the best product ideas can fail without the right team behind it.

  1. At 6:16 when she started explaining her solution, it was eye-opening! I recently completed a project that takes GitHub repos, summarizes all files, and allows users to ask questions about their codebase for better understanding.

As a student without access to premium models or paid APIs, I implemented the exact same approach – converting file summaries into vector embeddings, allowing user input context matching, and fetching related files for Q&A. I built this using first principles, never knowing this approach was also used by YC-backed startups.

Love this channel , amazing startup learning insights!

  2. Awesome video, was great to see the bts of their daily life and how they're growing their startup! I'm curious to know btw, how did you get in contact with people like Imogen and Saurav, because I haven't seen anyone making content like yours.

  3. Really enjoying these POV videos. Some feedback: would love a bit more context at the start about what the startup does. Maybe a 10 second summary from the founder.
By the end of the video I still don’t really know what they are working on and it’s a shame because this could be good marketing for them.
I also reckon just sit the founders down for a 15 minute interview and you’ll get amazing VO for some of the footage that will talk a bit higher level about the stage they’re at, that will give context to the micro-level moments you show in these vids.

  4. This is gold. Nothing like this on YouTube. Raw behind the scenes in tech and AI startups. I’m a founder myself at this exact stage. I can tell you, they are right. The successful founders all share a pattern. Amazing stuff. Maybe you’ll come visit us one day.

I’m friends with the Ciro team, seems a very similar product. They’re also YC backed. We may be too, soon 🙂
