A happy memory is my son running to the back of the house to tell his sisters "Mom pulled out the cookie book." they'd come thundering down the hall because they knew fun and deliciousness were the plan for the day. This was in the early 2000's! When i swear, I was the last stay-at-home Mom in the country. DEFINETLY the only one left in my neighborhood.
I used to have another cookie cook book with the spirals
I still have my cooky book. It was wedding present along with a cookie jar. I modify some of the recipes to modernize them.
Ethel's Sugar Cookies are still the best I've ever had and the Scotch Shortbread is a terrific 3 ingredient "hey, I think I'll whip up some cookies" cookie. My son ate an entire tray of those when he was very small.
A friend of mind still makes Cherry Blinks – they're yummy!
The only thing my siblings and I all wanted when my mom passed away. I was thrilled to find a copy for myself
I have that cookie book and love it. Of course, duct tape now holds it together.
Peanut butter cookies were one of ,y favorites and I made really good ones! But they absolutely had to have the criss cross made with a fork before baking to make them perfect😃😃😃😃
I grew up with this cookbook. When I moved out, I wanted one. My mom got me one at a antique mall and then I think they re-released it and we ended up with another. (I don't remember if my sister got it to replace mom's old one or what.) I still remember my sister and I helping my mom make the coconut butter balls for the first time when we were about 4 years old. Mom told us not to tell dad there were pecans inside and it would be a surprise for him. We couldn't wait for dad to get home to try them and we have always called them Daddy's Surprise Cookies to this day. We have bought other cookie recipe books since, but this has the most nostalgia and our favorite cookie recipes.
My mom baked pinwheels with a chocolate with coconut filling as well as date. I still make pinwheels each Christmas.
