I have all those books
I still have my copy from early 1970s and then a decade later got to know 2 women who were Betty. Rockers in the test kitchen editing this book.
Try the Cream Wafers. A little fussy, but yummy. I loved to look through this book when I was young and eventually bought myself and my daughters copies.
I was introduced to cowboy cookies by my godfather. He didn’t like coconut so that was left out and his wife didn’t have the patience to bother with the individual cookies so she threw it all in a pan and made bars. Delicious.
Im sure hungry for cookies after watching this!!
Thumbprint cookies were rolled in finely chopped nuts, like walnuts.
Most of the ones listed are the ones my family baked for Christmas, and the ones I still do. Make the dough ahead of time, divide or shape and then freeze. Bake as needed.
My mom made most of these cookies. Brings back memories!! I used to have the cookbook but not sure where it went
My mom and I tried to make cookies every Christmas when I was young. Many years. Bless her heart she could do a date nut bread but that was about it
50 years later, I bake 5-6 times a week. Work chocolate, bread, cakes, cheesecakes, and cookies. So many cookies. Just did 7 dozen decorated Halloween sugar cookies.
Love old cookbooks and hidden ‘finds’ from my youth that were never realized. lol
I still have and use that Betty Crocker book.
The Russian Tea Cakes are my favorite and what I bake every Christmas. My book is well loved.
