My mother made two dishes quite often which were economical and delicious. One was pasta with broccoli and garlic and the other was pasta with cauliflower and onions.
I love beef home made beef ravioli
Love this video! It's not just about the great food but about family!😊❤
I’m American, Italian decent. My Grandparents on both sides Sicilian. They cooked simple food. They came in the late 1865 era. Settled in Massachusetts. All the food talked about are true. My parents were second generation. Lived through the Depression. They shared their stories. Yes those breadcrumbs I make still today. It’s poor man’s Romano, parmigiana cheese. But thank God we could afford cheese growing up, but my Mother wasn’t wasteful, with it. She was a great cook, and taught me those Depression dishes. I’m 75, and my Grandparents and my Parents are in heaven. My brothers and I still cook those meals. Love them. Our children love them too. My grandchildren are learning to cook now. We were very blessed, by our heritage. Have great memories of homemade pasta, drying on a sheet on top of the bed. Thank you Grandma, you too were a great cook. I love and miss these wonderful people. Forever grateful.♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
We always had pasta fazool at our house, and you are right ….it makes everything better. We all loved it. 😊
I'm making spaghetti tonight. I once showed my sauce recipe to a chef, a real son of Sicily. He tole me to forget the herbs and spices, just let the tomatoes speak for themselves. I do make one change. I add meatballs made with Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and onions, and let it simmer for a couple of hours.
Immigrants. They make America great
At some moment of my childhood, I’ve eaten most of these. Still cook some of them.
Great video. But too much "editorializing"
