My Mum always made her own plum puddings, and the brandy sauce. As kids we weren't allowed to have the brandy sauce, and got hot custard sauce instead. She made her own dark fruitcake, and yes, she did start that in September. This isn't in the video, but she made her own shortbread biscuits and mince pies too. While we lived in Canada, both parents were English, and had grown up with the English Christmas traditions.
I enjoyed watching the various creations, but the back ground music was most annoying. Sorry!
Music annoying can't listen
My Grandmom was Pa Dutch. I use her potato candy! Still remember the first she mad it for me. One Sunday evening. My cousins and I were in heaven. I miss her dearly.
I wish I could try it all, those pies and the sugarplums looked so delicious!!☃️❄️🥧🥧🍬🧣🧤🎄🎄🎁☕🫐🍇🍓🍒🍊🍏👩❤️👨🧑🎄👼☃️
The fruit cake and nut cake was the only traditional cakes my mom would make every Christmas ..she always included her chocolate pies and pecans pies ..she was a expert at making her homemade meringue tho..something I never could get a taste for ❤..I miss her so much and I miss what she always brought to our dinners..she made them extra special. She was such a wonderful cook and hostess.❤
I'm sorry but oysters are expensive and if you made any thing with oysters, you weren't that poor.
We had clam chowder instead of oyster stew on Christmas Eve…
Assumption Abbey in Ava MO has excellent fruitcake…shipping and handling is included in the price, with no additional taxes…and not that angel food cake garbage…highly recommend!!!
