8:35 – I actually WAS wondering. I was thinking that you'd hired a camera op and editor (or op and editor in one).
yo that looks like some good ass poke. where i am i can't get tuna like that but maybe i'll try it with some other fish. also i really dig this long form video. a lot more than shorts, both in vibe and in not having to get into the shorts attention span trap. but, hey, don't be so hard on yourself for misspeaking! i do it a lot too and it's either whatever or funny. i think we all have some moments of aphasia like that 🙂 ditto with the wild tangents. keep it up dude!
Ian. I love your delivery, I love your recipes, I love your channel!!! But… cats on the counter———-that’s a no go for me. I know—-incorporating animals into vids raises viewership. We love our pets but they are not allowed in the kitchen. Everyone has their opinions- that’s mine. Anytime your cat shows up in the kitchen vids, I tune out and it is getting more frequent for me to do that. Again- my opinion and my choice. Just a thought… maybe after doing a human cooking vid (without pets in the kitchen) you show your cat enjoying its own special home cooked healthy meal. Cooking for the “entire”family! Oh oh…maybe I just gave you another channel idea. How to cook for the human beings and incorporate a menu for the cat/dog beings as a side channel. 😊 Yes, you!!! Reference the cat meal during the creation of your human recipe- keeping the pets out of the kitchen. 🎣
You are welcome. ❤😂 with much love because you trigger a smile always. Thank you 🙏 for the joy.

So tasty looking! The tobilko in the second one has a little pop of colour that’s appealing
When i lived in Greece after moving from Oahu, i craved poke so bad, and ordering ingredients online would take a month or would never show up. I had to use frozen tuna filets, premade spicy mayo, lucky i found some tobiko at a market and a little bits of chopped pepper.
In the US all tuna is safe to consume raw in regards to parasites. This is the main concern with things being “sushi grade”. In reality “sushi grade” is just marketing of the fish seller as a seal of confidence of the quality and freshness. Taste and quality are still concerns and what the focus should be on. Walmart and local Asian market tuna are both safe to consume raw the taste and texture is likely just far superior from a better purveyor. Obviously cooking can prevent normal food borne pathogens which is why mass retailers will still advise cooking tuna and not to consume raw for liability reasons.
I love poke!
As someone who used to live in Hawai'i, the first 5 seconds gave me faith and I knew you were going to deliver.
Best Poke I've ever had in my life was at this place called Tamura's.
Nice recipes!
