Looking for award-winning desserts that are actually easy to make? In this video, Nicole shares four prize-worthy treats that start with simple shortcuts (like boxed mix and ready-made dough) but deliver big on flavor—and blue ribbons. These recipes have wowed county fair judges and state fair crowds, and now they’re ready for your kitchen.

She kicks things off with a Peaches & Cream Pie that magically forms its own crust using vanilla pudding mix, followed by a super-rich Too Much Chocolate Cake that’s taken home first prize. Next up: a classic All-Butter Pound Cake that’s a Kentucky blue ribbon winner, and finally, a Salted Two-Way Brownie made with boxed brownie mix, chocolate chip cookie dough, and a caramel drizzle that won over judges at the North Carolina State Fair.
Whether you’re baking for a crowd or just want something sweet and simple, these fair-tested desserts are guaranteed to impress.

  1. I have been making the Kentucky Butter Cake from All Recipes for over 15 years now and it is always a WOW with people. It is dense but moist and the butter glaze is the perfect finish. It is fabulous just on its own but also pairs nicely with some fresh fruit if you want

  2. My mom always put too much flour on the pan. It would make the outer part of the bundt cake bitter. I would suffer eating it until ingot to the inside. My coworker said she uses sugar to “ flour” the pan. It works great. Maybe my mom bakes at too high of a temp

  3. Our son passed away three years ago, but when he was a sophmore in high school he needed to make a speech about something he did. I suggested he bake a cake and serve everyone a slice while talking about it. He made the Too Much Chocolate cake!! Everyone in his class said the cake was the best cake they'd ever had and there wasn't enough A's in the world to give him. His teacher sent me a note saying he'd never seen Tony so excited about a project. I still think of him making that cake, and how proud he was. It truly is the most delicious chocolate cake. We call it Tony's A+ Cake. I think I'll make it this weekend.
