2:32 so my brain is creating the microplastic!?
A couple years ago there was an incident where an influencer opened and unrolled a tampon live on stream and found a large piece of metal. She immediately started saying that the company was trying to kill women by putting razor blades in their tampons. Turns out, that was the sample the plant used to test their in-line metal detector, which they used make sure no metal was in any of the tampons they sold. Somehow, a plant worker took it home along with some free samples and gave it to their influencer friend.
As a card-carrying member of the ADHD community, I’ve been obsessively chewing plastics (and wood, and rubber, and metals, etc) since I was a young child. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that I have a couple of pounds of plastics floating around inside of me.
I feel like they picked 'Montreal Protocol' for the rhyme and sick beat.
Brain plasticity❌, brain plastics✅
Is it just for me, or is the microplastic one still pretty concerning…
About 4 decades ago, there was a huge scandal over cheap Austrian white wine adulterated with ethylene glycol as a sweetener. The Economist went over the numbers and found that you would have to drink a dozen bottles in. rapid succession for the ethylene glycol to have any health effect. It noted that if you drink wine like that, you probably would need medical attention anyway.
