Why so many recipes with ground beef??
It was a long video. But i liked it very much. Although i am younger than most. My mom went through ww 2 too. But being european… there was a different way overhere. Yello… never eat that. Those creamy stuff on toasted bread. Neighter. The closest we got to that is 'ragout'. Made with meats, like chicken, deer or rabit. Or made from mushrooms or heavier greens. When we were 'in a rough spot'. Cooked pasta with a can of 'ragout'. Both hot on a plate. Nice. And when the holiday's arrive. You toasted the left over bread. Heated up a can of 'ragout'. Put it on the table to dip in the evening. Or it is a nice luch or brunch dish.
Im 74 and thats the way I cook and I did it know that it was a cheep way😂
As a 60s child in the UK we had liver and onions once a week with cabbage and mash potatoes, never had any of the others, we never had anything with pasta or rice, it was always some sort of meat with vegetables and remember always having fish on Fridays and roast beef on Sundays, my mother loved to bake every week so we had lovely puddings.
My mom made goulash different, she'd dice & fried potatoes in a large cast iron skillet then add 2 cans of Campbell's soup (vegetable beef) some milk & cream 😋, then put in the oven for awhile, last the broiler until brown on top. Yum!
My youngest daughter has made most of these dishes, even the water pie!
I never caught on to tomato soup. Not sure why because the rest of my family loves it.
The photos, and clips of people from other countries, and video clips from some movie are so inappropriate for this video.
I make liver and onions every 3 weeks for the grans and fried salmon bone with 2 lbs of thin sliced onions with cornbread, fried potatoes they'll actually fuss if I forget.
When I grew up, for our birthdays, my mother would always make jello & a cake…I had no idea that the rest of the world was eating cake & ice cream, on their birthdays. I was one of 6 children & we were poor, but even today, I prefer jello with birthday cake. To me, ice cream & birthday cake, just don't seem like they go together.
