Where did the u-shape curve study take place? If the populations were different, the graphs might just tell us that different populations reported differently.

As a Canadian living in Germany, this doesn’t surprise me. Older Germans tend to be a lot grumpier than older Canadians so I would be interested in seeing results from other countries.
