What if everything went perfect for Switzerland?
Hi, I’m from Colombia and I think you missed one thing. Social classes were very big, first were Spanish born in Spain, then their kids born in the Americas, which were second class because of where they were born even if their blood was all European. They were called the criollos, and in this crisis, they demanded that they get the same privileges and the Spanish because they saw themselves as such. But when they refused, that rejection is what gave them the idea of independence. There wasn’t any virtue, they only wanted to be part of the ruling class. So if Spain had agreed with them, there might not have been an independent movement at all.
The peninsular armies weren't that much of an issue, it was mostly a civil war, that was why Bolivar was so adamant on liberating Peru, plenty of people there as "Spanish" reinforcements.
Who the hell is Boulevard?
