  1. One of the biggest causes of frizz is dryness. Well moisturized hair isn’t nearly as frizzy. When well nourished, the outer layer of the hair (the cuticle) lays more flat (very flat if there’s no chemical or heat damage) and the flatter those little “shingles” lie, the less frizz there is. But this doesn’t mean you have to go overboard with products. Like Abbey mentioned, use the 3 step system (shampoo, conditioner and leave in) for your hair type/texture and then beyond that, get into the habit of oiling your hair daily. Just a few drops of the right oil for your hair type/texture is nothing short of transformative. While I definitely don’t agree with the oils that Abbey recommends, I do agree that oils are extremely beneficial to hair health. Nothing moisturizes hair like a hair oil. But there are some caveats here. An oil/silicone blend can be so heavy on the silicone and so low on the oil content that it doesn’t nourish the hair at all. You’re better off with a REAL oil, a few drops at night as part of your PM routine. Pure jojoba oil for thick coarse hair or Moroccan Oil, pure camellia oil (the best is imported from japan and available on amazon and some Asian websites), pure prickly pear and the Olaplex Bonding oil for fine to medium hair. Just a few drops at night and then a couple of drops in the morning for added hydration and shine and you won’t believe the difference.
