Not for nothin' – you have pretty hands and pretty nails.
Two movies that highlight Stallone's acting chops, this movie and "Copland".
The thing that still gets me to this day, many rewatches and many reacts later, is that all of this was born from 1 dude not letting a guy grab some dinner in town. If he's a drifter as you say, won't he keep drifting? The amount of times I've been in a neighbourhood, village, random mall or strange city and I've had meals and then moved on, often never returning.. There's genuinely nothing to indicate he's there to do anything more than just grab a bite. And its a tiny town, IF after he has dinner he hangs around being all vagrant-like, sure, arrest him then? Like, what's with the pre-emptive "policing" of a guy wanting a bite. It still annoys me to this day, how all this flowed forth out of the sheriffs inability to find even a crumb, a grain of empathy or humanity or humility or respect or restraint or patience. ANY of ANY of those virtues and this could have been avoided.
If you thought this was an unhappy ending…try the book. Let's just say there's no sequel to the book.
That Sheriff is way too unhinged for me, "what would you have done? Give him a big sloppy kiss or blow his brains out." Dude how about neither you psycho. Like how is that even a person lol?
I remember the 70s. There were people like these small town cops. It's exaggerated, but not by as much as you probably think.
I dumbfounded by people who don't understand or respect Freedom of Movement, in this country. Things like that still continue today in some towns.
One of the more interesting points about this movie is that end speech by Rambo in the original screen play. After he breaks down and is crying and clearly emotionally broken, Col Troutman shoots and kills him. Troutman knows that Rambo, if he goes to jail, is going to end up killing a lot of people and in many ways that would be worse than him being dead because after everything that's happened Rambo would never get out of prison for the remainder of his life.
This movie is based off a book. Rambo was supposed to die at the end of the book. Sly wanted him to live at the end and they kept the ending. Brian that plays the a hole officer is such a good actor. He play Tommy Boy’s father. Another favorite film I love by Brian is called Gladiator which is a boxing movie. Not Russell Crow Gladiator
I have a friend whose sister is portrayed on the Vietnam memorial she received the bronze Star for holding the artery on a soldier's neck clothes so he wouldn't bleed to death while exposed to enemy artillery fire. All the rest of the doctors and nurses were hiding in trenches.
