I wonder how many of these, “oh I could do that myself” people ordered McDonald’s today? Sure you could make food yourself too. Convenience is the moat, people are inherently lazy.
I like Takayan and DAOKO. They're great Japanese wrappers.
The problem for open ai is eventually the model will be in either the OS or the browser via a local infererence profile so the wrappers will be able to insulate themselves and the companies that use them from the massive increase in the cost of tokens for running llm requests on the cloud that eventually companies like openai will need to charge once they no longer can just subsidize those tokens to build market share which they aren't really doing if people use them through a wrapper.
To be fair, 90-95% of all startups fail anyhow.
