Jews hiding as Christians or Muslims is not unusual. Milton Hershey was a Swiss Crypto Jew. I inherited, down the generations, the documents dealing with this from my great great grandparents Susan Hershey and Levi Zimmerman. Scott F. My dad's mother was from a family of Jews who in Frankfurt Germany hid as Christians in the 1800s cause of bad things and or Ghetto or something. After WW2 she was pretty screwed up at times dealing with memories. Sometimes people treat Jews badly I guess. Me at 55 am not sure what my identity is cause the more I read the less I know. Sorry for my Dutch talk I went to Locust Grove Mennonite School. Bad English.
💙🦋✡️I give tours at a Historic Synagogue in St. Thomas. The Synagogue goes back to 1796, the #sandfloorsynagogue. People are starting to ask this question about Hamilton, who worked in another Danish colonial island, St. Croix until he was ready to come to the colonial colony called New York. The Hamilton question is only after “was Columbus Jewish?” and “were there Jewish pirates?” I say probably a little to all three because it is always the case in the tropical Merchant/Sailing Cultures.
🍇This population had a lot of mixed up relationships, just as in the later slave & “indentured servant” days in North America. Lots of good stuff. Hamilton’s mother buying 34 hardbound books from the Jewish educator at great cost was very important. She put him into business by here business sense and reputation, another Jewish strong skill.
