The most significant events of World War II come to life in this vivid documentary featuring original and colorized footage.

00:00:00:00 – The Gathering Storm: Just years after World War I, Germany and other nations are in an economic depression. Leader approval ratings of Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain are shallow, giving the rise to military dictators along with their parties. Years after Adolf Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany, he and his generals plot the invasion of Poland.

00:51:40:22 – Lightning War: The Germans develop a new military tactic known as Blitzkrieg. The Nazis use Blitzkrieg, dominating land and air warfare, allowing them to take Poland and conquer France in matters of weeks. Britain and Canada, as well as other Commonwealth countries, declare war on Germany.

01:42:57:00 – Britain at Bay: July 1940, Britain is standing on its last legs while being pummeled by Germany. Though Hitler has better soldiers and a more powerful air force, critical errors of the Luftwaffe allow Britain to regain strength and start pushing back.

02:34:14:06 – Hitler Strikes East: After the unsuccessful attempt to defeat the British, Hitler focuses his attention on the Soviet Union. This proves to be quite a military gamble.

  1. Its no use to show that commericial here on youtube because what you are talking about is not avalable outside the USA and i am not going to pay for history that i can get elsewhere for free you use the money to buy guns and missiles to rule the world but beware if you strike you will be destroyed and wiped of the map

  2. I genuinely thought I was the only one who drifts off to sleep with WWII documentaries playing in the background. Something about the calm narration mixed with the distant rumble of engines and artillery just knocks me out instantly. It’s strange, but instead of scaring me, it brings this weird feeling of comfort and routine. Glad to know there’s an entire tribe of us out here falling asleep to history every night. 😅💤
