    13. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
    14. Dried red chilli 2-3
    15. Desi ghee 3-4 tbsp
    16. Water 2 ltrs

    ✨Method✨
    1. Start by washing and cleaning the dal with a cloth. Then dry roast this dal in a Kadhai for 5-6 mins on medium flame until fragrant.
    2. Once done and on room temperature grind this dal to a coarse texture.
    3. In a mortar and pestle add garlic, ginger, green chillis and coriander seeds and pound it to make a dry chutney. Once done add the fresh coriander leaves and pound again.
    4. Now in a heavy bottomed pan heat some ghee and then add a pick of heeng followed by Cumin seeds, mustard seeds and dry red chillis.
    5. Sauté on low flame for 1-2 mins and then add the chopped onions. Cook the onions until golden brown on medium flame.
    6. Once done add the prepared dry chutney and sauté again for 2 mins to let the garlic cook.
    7. Then add grounded dal and a tbsp of whole wheat flour with turmeric powder and salt.
    8. Mix well and Roast the mixture until the raw smell of whole wheat flour goes away.
    9. Now add hot water, mix well and cover and cook for 15-20 mins on medium low flame or until the dal is well cooked.
    10. Serve hot with rice.
