That movie was too slow a burn for me.
In Italy we changed the title completely into 'The Wings Of Freedom'
The short story was just Shawshank Redemption. This is just made up bullshit.
After I went to watch it at the movie theatre I recommended it to all my friends the next day but for some reason I told them it was called The Hudsucker Reduction ! 🤯
And because Rita Hayworth would reduce the surprise of the movie (if you know, you know)
Not to be rude I don't think Rita Hayworth was that popular figure in the 90s, So I don't think it would have really changed much.
It’s called “the Key to freedom” in Swedish
Promoting films is a profession. Rory Sutherland has absolutely no experience in the field. In fact, he knows about as much as, say, your Uber driver. He too, like Rory Sutherland, has read the Morgan Freeman interview and the movie's Wikipedia page that mentions an ill-chosen release date.
If your Uber driver claimed to be a genius who understands an industry in which he has zero experience, you would think he's a moron. What does that make Rory Sutherland?
The name wasn't that bad it was more it was released at a bad time with little fanfare or advanced notice. That's a death kiss to a movies success before it even comes out. Just look at Disney's treasure planet movie, arguably one of Disney's best 2D animated movies but intentionally sabotaged by people within Disney who wanted to end the 2D animation studio.
After being nominated for several Oscars in early 1995, between February and March, it earned a further $12 million. In total, the film grossed $28.3 million in the United States and Canada, and $45 million from other markets for a worldwide total of $73.3 million, against a budget of $25 million.
