Deviled is the process of cooking. Not just a name.
If you dont know what a deviled egg is. You cut the eggs in half and remove all the yolks, mix them with mustard and mayo, mix it, fill the eggs back up and sprinkle paprika on the top. Some people use relish in the mix but I dont like it that way.
Deviled eggs are devilishly easy to eat. Nobody sits around and eats half a dozen eggs, but a dozen deviled eggs? Easy work right there.
In reality heavily spiced foods are called "deviled" foods while light and fluffy foods are called "angel" foods.
"Devilling" was the act of making something spicy.
We should call them, heavenly eggs and get rid of the devil crap, we are already surrounded by that nonsense
