  1. I downloaded arattai. I'm waiting for encryption for messages. Once that is done, I'll uninstall WhatsApp by telling people that if you have to text me, then text me in arattai because I won't be in WhatsApp. That's the strategy to make everyone hop into it. Of course, not everyone is going to do that but at least a significant number of people will move to arattai which is a good starting point

  2. Just making a replacement for US apps will not make it successful in the long run(remembering 'Koo' which was also promoted by the govt. is shutdown now). There must be features that are unique, useful and helpful for the taste of Indian users that will find its acceptance because all this nationalist campaign will die in a few days. So they need to work hard to find out what people want and did not get it in WApp (data store in India is a necessity of the govt. not really that of the people 🙂 A feature rich app with easy and vast networking and ease of use and communication is what's important. Looking at the amount of fake news and fraud happening in WhatsApp , that is one area they can focus and then make it really expressive like LINE so that it will be an app without language barriers. Involve celebrities and professionals with some innovative features that will be useful for them so that public will be drawn to it through them.
