We challenged Nicole to turn one mystery ingredient—hot dogs—into three brand-new recipes using a fully stocked kitchen and zero prep time. From recipe concept to final plate, Nicole walks through her creative process and proves there’s no challenge too weird (or too wiener-y) for her to handle.
She starts with a breakfast classic reimagined: a Hot Dog Pancake Casserole that’s sweet, savory, and surprisingly comforting. Next, she’s tasked with creating a wedding-worthy dish (for 100 people!) and pulls off a viral-inspired Garlic Bread Mini Hot Dog Station—with a guest appearance and taste test from Allrecipes’ own Natalie.
Finally, the real wildcard: dessert. Nicole channels candied bacon energy into a Caramelized Hot Dog Banana Sundae that’s bold, sweet, and shockingly good. Whether you’re here for the recipes or the reactions, this hot dog challenge brings the creativity.

I applaud the effort and the accomplishment.
However, the last challenge was beyond the pale.
Seriously, there are 4 people that are going to make a hot dog dessert as a prank. Beyond that, it was a waste of effort. I'm here to find delicious ideas for food, and that was an effort that has no benefit for the VAST majority of people. I have plenty of other options for entertainment. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
Impressive!!!
#2 definitely making for next get together but will add dijon mustard to the garlic butter
whomever edited this, starch is the word, not startch…there's no extra t in the word..lol
If your checking the internet for ideas, doesn’t make it much of a challenge.
I freaking LOVE hot dogs! Try them cut in thirds, rolled up in puff pastry and baked. Plain old yellow mustard to dip. Couldn't be easier, but they disappear at every party 🎉
Yummy dishes! I love Sam’s brand beef franks. Making these for sure!👍
I like to split a hot dog, fill it with mash potatoes grate cheese on the top.. put in oven till hot and cheese is melted….then add chilli if you so choose or enjoy as is..
