We challenged Nicole to turn one mystery ingredient—hot dogs—into three brand-new recipes using a fully stocked kitchen and zero prep time. From recipe concept to final plate, Nicole walks through her creative process and proves there’s no challenge too weird (or too wiener-y) for her to handle.
She starts with a breakfast classic reimagined: a Hot Dog Pancake Casserole that’s sweet, savory, and surprisingly comforting. Next, she’s tasked with creating a wedding-worthy dish (for 100 people!) and pulls off a viral-inspired Garlic Bread Mini Hot Dog Station—with a guest appearance and taste test from Allrecipes’ own Natalie.
Finally, the real wildcard: dessert. Nicole channels candied bacon energy into a Caramelized Hot Dog Banana Sundae that’s bold, sweet, and shockingly good. Whether you’re here for the recipes or the reactions, this hot dog challenge brings the creativity.

The hot dog sundaes need to be served up on the sauerkraut ice cream a shop in PA makes it once a year. I would never try it, but they sell out every year.
Let’s go for peanut butter next
That would be "starch" not "startch" lol
My life would be so much easier if I liked eggs. I hear “breakfast casseole” and 🤢🤢
For a wedding I would try a it wrapped with angel hair pasta and served on a tomato sauce.
I am usually between 85 and 100% on what you come up with to cook.
Hot dogs are a hard maybe. Hawaiian roles are a pure pass 100% no mater how they are prepared or fancied up.
I did watch the entire video though, only because I liked the way you attempt to present everything.
Caramelization IS flavor, yes Queen!
I’ve done this with biscuits cut up and cheese, just a few days ago, next time I will only use half the biscuits, there was too much bread last time and it threw everything off! I only used 4 eggs and it wasn’t enough with a whole can of biscuits, ratios didn’t work out flavor wise but was still a good casserole!
Once you score them you can paint in some bbq sauce and cook slowly for great flavor!
I bet that would be good in cornbread too sorta like a corn dog.
