  1. call me when you want to do my reaction to their reactions. it will break the internet. my grandmothers faced this reality with their husbands for YEARS. you are all worthless and weak. for them it wasn't a movie. let that sink in already.

  2. A Western Union man delivered the telegram to my grandparents apartment but finding no one home left it with the building janitor. Later that night a crying janitor knocked on their door and seeing the look on his face and the unopened telegram in his hand somehow knew their only son, my uncle was gone. He was killed in action on the road to Rome.

  3. Brothers were not allowed to serve in the same unit to prevent them from all being killed in a single battle. Sole Survivor Policy was an actual policy during WWII. The US government were attempting to prevent entire family lines from ending due to the war.
