  1. They were poor people’s food here in the UK for a long time. Whitstable in Kent was known for them and I have eaten at a sea food restaurant there by the beach where they still shuck them and generate piles of shells, but they are rich people’s food now. To me they look like the products of a respiratory infection and I would not put such things in my mouth. I had a crab salad and I still think about it after six years, it was so good 😂
