I just realized that I've only tried oysters on their own but never in something. Now I need to look up recipes!
And this is the reason oysters are so expensive today, everyone used to eat them and were overfished and over consumed into endangered levels, now they’re not easy to get to and less plentiful as well.
During the same period in American history prisoners were fed lobsters. And what we consider to be a gourmet food today, at that time the prisoners complained that they were forced to eat trashy food and it was literally seen as cool and unusual punishment! Crazy!
