We are a colony of the United States. We were invaded and colonized by the United States in 1898, a few months after Spain had begun our freedom process in 1897. The US and every country that had a colony were obligated to give their colonies their citizenship because it is illegal to possess a colony so with the citizenship they could call us territory even though we have been stripped of everything like any other colony.
