Jeff Lynne is a musical genius, also played a major part in the Travel Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty.
Was a Patreon member but aware my comments re Israel's Genocide probably too political. Still love you guys…
You just have to check out Mr Blue Sky, live version. In my opinion even better better than Telephone line.
Looking forward to you guys visiting us here in thevaUK
One Year ago I brought a bunch of Family Members to the ELO Concert in San Francisco including my kids in their mid 20’s. When we left they said that it was the best concert they had ever been to! I just wish my Dad was still alive and could have come with us as He was the one who raised us on ELO
I saw ELO at Wembley Arena in 1978. Introduced for some bizarre reason by Tony Curtis (Jamie Lee's dad if you're too young to know who he is), it was an amazing, unique show. There was a spaceship where the stage should be – no I'm not kidding. The spaceship takes off and reveals the band underneath and they kick off the show with the "Concerto For A Rainy Day" from the Out Of The Blue double album (I still have the original vinyl) and there was an incredible laser light show all through the performance. Quite an experience for a 14 year old who thought lasers were pure science fiction (well, it was the '70s 😁)
That WAS so GOO-ah-DUh!
It saddens me to look back at the great bands that came out of Britain. It saddens me in that now there are no new bands coming through. Our pop charts have only had one band hitting number one this century. The grassroots of the business, the pubs that put on live music have been in long decline. The smoking ban, licencing laws, business rate taxes etc. have all had an impact on pubs offering live music. I am one of those struggling to get gigs.
This is going to sound weird but…….
"The "Prodigy" album, "Music for a Jilted Generation " has the same vibe as ELOs "Out of the Blue" album.
Love both bands.❤
My Dad adored
Given your appreciation of outstanding 1960’s music I suggest you react to Fleetwood Mac’s track ‘Albatross’. Enjoy.
