So funny that Elvis looked for the love that his mother gave him all his life, and sadly he never found it. He found leeches and people who wanted his money because of his human kindness to always give, and it’s unfortunate that the people that loved him the most was us…. Me. Thanks for sharing this always I love your reactions your kindness and you’re absolute genuine heartfelt response to the songs you listen to. Watching you react and the love or whatever you’re feeling that I feel through my TV screen makes me feel warm inside and grateful that new people are beginning to love Elvis just for Elvis the man God bless you.
One of my favorite songs by Elvis. his albums Elvis in Memphis and Elvis Back in Memphis which this song is from are two of his best albums ever.
"I had conquered the world oh but what did, did I have?" Really hits home because it sounds almost autobiographical.
Compare this version to Tom Jones' fine rendition, Elvis takes this to another level.
Elvis doesn't just sing, he creates another reality for 3-4 minutes and transports you into it.
Tom Jones recorded this song first but when Elvis decided to record it became my favorite version. Both great vocalists but Elvis made the interpretation strike home!
