🚨 Gen Z’s skincare obsession might be aging them faster than EVER… In this video, I’m breaking down how the rise of 10-step skincare routines, overusing harsh acids, and chasing “anti-aging” trends are secretly destroying young faces instead of protecting them.

From TikTok’s endless skincare hauls to the pressure of looking younger than your actual age, Gen Z is falling into a cycle of damaged skin barriers, premature wrinkles, and long-term problems that no serum can fix. Let’s talk about how this skincare addiction started, why it’s so toxic, and what you actually need for healthy skin.

✨ If you’ve ever wondered whether all those products are worth it (or if you’re guilty of using too many at once), this video is for you. ‘LIKE’ the video if you enjoyed it, and let me know what video’s you’d like to see in the future! Love, Lael ❤️

  1. Not gonna lie, when I first heard “high maintenance to be low maintenance” it meant when I would her my brows laminated and eyelashes tinted. That way all I had to do in the morning was roll out of bed, slap on a tinted sunscreen, and brush my teeth then leave for work 😂

  2. I used to be so hooked in these “10 step skincare routines” but now I just know what works for me and I have one serum, I gently exfoliate once a week or once every two weeks and I have one moisturizer and one spf (lots of outdoor) and my skin is awesome ☺️ never been better! I’m 27 now and I look better than when I was 23… Also I use only cruelty free products so no Korean cosmetics for me – I think nothing justifies cruelty, there are other ways to test the products

Edit: obviously I wash my face everyday with a normal gentle cheap cleanser which has one purpose – to clean my face from sebum, spf or/ and makeup

  3. I was 15 years old when a skin spa sold my mom to give me a 10 step skin care to heal my acne. I ended up getting a gnarly skin infection and used cetaphil and cerave ever since clearing it with antibiotics. Over 10+ years later, less is so much more.

  4. What about the 7-layer toner process that comes from Korea, using one milky fluid??
I liked THAT idea, but don't hear about it anymore. I mean, I was using maybe four applications when in the Az. desert, less in humid states. Seven is a lot!

    N.B: I'm not a Gen Z, but a Boomer

  5. Skin care is important it’s just the way that they are going about some of it is bad, I’m a esthetician and I always tell my clients you only need four important steps for skincare a cleanser, exfoliator, moisturizer and spf that’s it you can add serums to target certain things if you need it but having 10 steps is unnecessary
