As someone who lives in a place where they ration water AND have electricity bills out the wazoo, boiling water and throwing it away is MADNESS. And "genius" is a term so abused by clickbaiters such as yourself, it's practically lost its original meaning.
Hot water and glass it may crack the glass
I leave mine out overnight. Works every time.
I put mine in a dish walk outside and it melts before I can close the door, I live in south Texas
I usually put my butter behind the fridge for a little while….does the trick every time
