There is a surprising, and little known, history connecting goats and the US Navy. But, then again, goats themselves have a surprising history.

We had goats when I was growing up. They definitely had personalities and opinions!!! Some I liked much more than others.
Growing up, my mom would give us lamb ONLY when dad was gone; he said they fed mutton in the Navy!
Around here there is a guy with pet goats he taught to surf! You can find videos on YouTube. Those goats, like the ones down the street are pretty interesting animals.
Goat and sheep dairy farming is quickly becoming an attractive alternative to cattle in many parts of New Zealand. Numbers can be considerably higher with lesser environmental impact and the resultant milk is much higher value. I know several farmers who have made the switch over successfully.
When I was growing up here in the Ozarks we had goats on our farm. They ate the things the cattle wouldn't. They kept the pastures trimmed up sort of speak. Great animals that required a minimum of care. Compared to cattle they are geniuses.
Noticeably, a number of people can not tolerate goat or sheep in their diet. In association Billy's can ve smelled a Noticeable distance upward … believe me.
The goats being attributed to Satan probably comes from Jesus future judgment of the nations for dividing the nation of Israel. Joel chapter 3 and Matthew chapter 25. When Jesus returns in his second coming he will separate the sheep from the goats. Sheep meaning saved and goats meaning punished.
I hate football but I like goats and goat means greatest of all time to the ten year olds
I'm sorry. I understand the frustration with not being there to film history, but I can't let the exploration of the possible past steal artists hard work and ruin our future environment.
I see people who claim that goats are intelligent. I dispute this. In my experience with horses, cows, goats and chickens, only chickens are dumber than goats. What they are is persistent. If I ever meet a goat smart enough to not get its head caught in a stock fence, I might be persuaded to change my mind, but I ain't worried about it.
thanks for working so hard to bring us such good history stuff!!
