Gorillaz is the brain child of Damon Albarn from Blur.
The idea was to be anonymous and collaborate with other artists.
The Gorillaz is a collective. Kinda like the Blue Man Group, same act, same songs, different people behind it at any point. Except one. Damon Albarn. He's the main vocalist, one of the creators, and the only person who you would call a mainstay band member. The rest of the Gorillaz has been played by alot of different people. its never just 1 Guitarist behind Noodle, its never just 1 bass player behind Murdoc, its never just 1 drummer behind Russel. Even 2-D, who is mostly just Damon, can sometimes be played by someone else, depending on the song. Thats what makes the Gorillaz so interesting, is that this isnt just a song featuring De La.
He is as much a part of Gorillaz as pretty much anyone who plays as the Gorillaz is a part of Gorillaz.
Also shout out to Jamie Hewlett. He's the artist responsible for the designs and characters.

Damon Albarn is definitely rabbit hole material. He's been making brilliant music since at least 1991. Pick a year!
I remember my hearing this when it came out and getting the album and only 1 other song is ANYTHING near this. So disappointing. This is the only thing they ever did that's nearly this funky. That bass line is everything!
