Why didnt the romans keep a history of emperor valerian's death ?
The shame of losing ?
The humiliations of the defeated ?
Why was he never ransomed or avenged ?
Doubt the history, but dont sugar coat it.

Yeah… I can definitely see the whole drinking molten gold as fiction. Gold….is well gold! Even if you’re a monarch, you’d not want to waste gold on crap like this. Yes, yes. You can say it was meant to humiliate him, but…what if he actually drank it?! Then you’d have to extract the gold from…😱🤮
