We hope you enjoy this fascinating talk from Professor Arthur Brooks on the pursuit of happiness, and why it seems hard to come by in today’s culture.

With the return of the ARC Conference this February, we are launching our first book — a work that encapsulates the values and ideas that shape ARC’s mission. The Best of Our Inheritance brings together fifteen of the sharpest minds of our time to make a bold case for remembering the values of our civilisation. From Barry Straussʼ account of the Classical Tradition, Ayaan Hirsi Aliʼs personal reflections on the values of the West and its Christian roots to Nigel Biggarʼs chapter on human dignity and Joseph Laconte’s call to the artists, reading this book will give you a tangible vision for civilisational renewal.

I’m really amazed of how there can be people on the audience that doesn’t clap for this
Wait, where does this guy work?
Happiness is just one time emotion and doesn’t last long. Can you be happy for more than a day when bought a car. After few days happiness of buying car is gone!!! What we need is PEACE 😅😅that lasts long 😂
This sounds like one size fits all. BS. For starters I don't need delusions (faith) to be happy. I accept that the world is a mystery and will always remain so..
The most happiest countries on earth are also the ones with the most amount of atheists, and the best welfare systems. Hows that for taste?
This guy is a Harvard professor? Sounds like a two bit preacher vomiting banal self help books in his circus tent.
lol. Was already questioning this guy when he said he admires Jordan Peterson.
And then he finished it up with saying the free enterprise system is our only way to happiness.
Yeah, lol the free enterprise is definitely bringing tons of happiness to the masses. There’s tons of happiness being produced across the globe in all of the country’s we pillage for resources.
This guys definitely a fucking right wing hack.
I was expecting more from a Hardvard professor. He only touched common sensical things ( Love your family, have a purpose..), the rest is american predjudice and a a very narrow view of things . I will go back to the reading of Lucrecius and other greek savants.
Had the narcissist oprah learn that?
WHY SO MANY BIƆLIONERS CELEBRITIES SO UNHAPPY AND SCREWED?
