“Happiness is a combination of three macro nutrients: enjoyment, satisfaction, and meaning.”
We hope you enjoy this fascinating talk from Professor Arthur Brooks on the pursuit of happiness, and why it seems hard to come by in today’s culture.

With the return of the ARC Conference this February, we are launching our first book — a work that encapsulates the values and ideas that shape ARC’s mission. The Best of Our Inheritance brings together fifteen of the sharpest minds of our time to make a bold case for remembering the values of our civilisation. From Barry Straussʼ account of the Classical Tradition, Ayaan Hirsi Aliʼs personal reflections on the values of the West and its Christian roots to Nigel Biggarʼs chapter on human dignity and Joseph Laconte’s call to the artists, reading this book will give you a tangible vision for civilisational renewal.

The problem is human are free to do what ever they want but can't want what they want.
Having a good net of quality social relationships is key for happiness but he only talks about family, having children, a spouse,… It is rather simplistic and biased. He says having children is the way to happiness. Really? What if you don't want them? Too liberal and biased for a scientist.
This gentleman is payed by the government, and the government needs you to have kids.
Oh god. I didn't realize this guy was a Jordan Peterson fan. That dude is a hack. He says, "Clean your room," but he's dying from living in a house full of mold. He's a grifter and a fake Christian.

One of the problems here is that the free enterprise system and corporate greed is what’s messing up people’s happiness. It started going wrong slowly during the move to factories in the industrial revolution IMHO.
Very interesting, I would add a 5th element . Passion. You need to be passionate about something …. Music, sports, art…. Your brain and your soul needs it …
