His YC Startup Failed and Now They’re Building Again

In this episode, I go behind the scenes with Vasili Shynkarenka, the founder of AI Study Camp, and the first YC-backed founder from Belarus.

After raising millions and building a company that made headlines in TechCrunch and Forbes, Vasili’s first startup failed. Not quietly either, the fallout was public, painful, and left him unsure if he’d ever build again.

But now, he’s back, not chasing headlines or VC rounds, but rebuilding on his own terms.

We talk about what it takes to bounce back after failure, how he’s built a new team from scratch in weeks, and why he’s betting on small, fast, founder-led experiments over big, bloated startup plans.

If you’re building something, rebuilding something, or wondering whether you have it in you to try again, this one will hit different.

  1. 'If you just keep doing it, success will inevitably find you.' – There's something so relaxing about that. Its so easy to get caught up the details, when in reality, if you spend enough time at something, something good will come from it. Just got to keep going. Appreciate the videos Will

  2. Hey so I love watching your videos 🙂 so I am writing this to see if there is any opportunity for me. I am Tushar, a high school 18 year old student with proteus syndrome and locomotive problems. I have been doing side hustles since 3-4 years and have earned around 1.2usd from various side hustles but mainly through usability testing. But these usability testing studies are very inconsistent and they select candidates based on the selection video we send, and I think i don;t get selected into most studies because i look and sound like 10 year old kid, I always wanted to start my agencies too but my voice held me back. But I really want a stable job in which i can work 2-3 hours each day with full effort and want to earn stable income, no matter if its very very less like 50-100 dollars a month would work too. I am also starting a d2c company in which we will sell organic products so for that too I wanna save some capital and also we are financially bad so it would help in that too. so I wanted to ask if there is any working opportunity for me that you can give to me, I would be very glad, and if you don't have any anything for me then please connect me to people who might help me 🙂
