A nice documentary in Hindi about the 1855 colonial Bridge connecting Howrah to Calcutta at the time when India used to be called British India (also fondly known as The Raj of the British Sahibs  and their British Memsaabs who  the administrators for the Communist Commonwealth British Empire Treasury) :
With regard to the language of protocol, the form of address which had been made mandatory was for the Infusn ubjects to address the communist owners as Milord.
