But that doesn't look like there's actually started in there so do you just start it and then take out what people call the discard and use that and leave the scrapings in the jar and add more so you never waste any??
On this planet earth, people like things done for them and moan when its wrong. I know many people and not one has a starter. Some have tried but all failed with excuses of winter. In Cape Town we have the best weather all year round. And then to top it off the people dont want to pay the price it cost to make bread and rolls.
Merry Christmas Jack! Love what you do.
My sourdough has been kept in the fridge and been using it successfully until today and it’s gone mouldy!!!!!
This method has never failed me and its easy no fuss thnx Jack
Bingo
I don't get it… So, the only actual sourdough starter in the (future) bread is what's left in the jar after doing what (???) with the sourdough starter that was in the jar in the beginning of the video?!
Question, i used to do this with whole whear bread flour, gave a few feedings. I lost my sour taste. Does the rye make or keeo the sour?
I don’t know Jack, that lid seemed a little tight!
I really don’t understand why people Chuck half out, they’re hardier than people make out, I just feed mine the night before and it’s great. Usually 2 loaves a week but I’ve gone on holiday over almost 2 months and she’s lived and immediately produced a great loaf! – I’m confused where all the different ‘rules’ came from..
