What's your initial Starter recipe?
I fed my starter mid morning with hopes to bake this evening. It has lovely bubbles and looks ready to proceed to bake, but my day took a hard left and can’t get to it…it’s been on the counter all day. Should I leave it in the counter top until tomorrow am or should I put back in the fridge and start over in the am? Would I have to refeed it? The starter is from a friend who gave it to me yesterday and I’m very green right now 😬. His jar was smaller and I thought I’d have to put it in a bigger jar so it’s grown out versus up (if that makes sense)
My house is too cold and my starter is not increasing in size at all. It does not smell good either. Like… at all. 🙊

Can you use distilled water in your starter?

I do not in fact have my own sourdough starter routine. I suppose i am not on this planet
This may simply it but no nutritional value
Can i just use bread flour to make the starter
Since weather is cool here can i stick it in the oven? Do i have to leave the oven door open or can i leave the light on with the door closed. And also can i use everything up and just make fresh starter whenever i need to make bread
