You only need to get four things right to start a successful online store in 2026.
After 14 years running online stores full-time, I’ve seen the same pattern over and over. ๐
You pick trendy products that disappear in six months. You price based on what competitors charge and race straight to the bottom. ๐ธ๐ฉ
You spend weeks designing the perfect website. You’re posting on Instagram every day and getting nowhere.
If I started over today? I’d focus on just four things in the first 30 days.โจ
In this video, I’m walking you through all four:
โ
The Moat Test: how to pick products that sells and competitors can’t copy
โ
The trick that makes your store name unforgettable
โ
The pricing formula for profit, not just costs
โ
Why Etsy is risky and what to build instead so you own your business

Okay. Can we talk about that pricing formula? I legitimately just. Love the simplicity of it, while still making room for Mark ups and future sales?
Let me play with actual numbers for a second.
So. I'm aiming to be an illustrator. I would like $20-25 USD an hour. But for this example I'll go $20 because… I like round numbers.
Hypothetically, let's say I design a sticker. And maybe it takes me… 8 hours fully to design? All the drafts, the actual drawing/painting, editing and researching print quality and color testing. Let's be nice (really, really nice) and say this is 8 hours of work. Probably quicker than it'd actually be, but you know.
That's already $160 to account for. But this is stickers, so this is going into something I can reprint hundreds of times (assuming it sells well).
So. Let's also say the sticker printer I want to use charges $47 for the types of stickers I want to sell. 100 vynal, glossy stickers.
So far, I have $207 I need to figure out how to make/recover in all. Which isn't bad if we divide that price by 100 stickers โ $2.07 a sticker is alarmingly cheap, all things considered, but it doesn't leave a lot of room to do this again.
So. This is where our markup price comes in??? I don't know why we're doing 2*2 instead of four, but I'll assume it has something to do with setting aside for profit, taxes, store costs… And of it doesn't, the nice thing about it broken down like this is that it can? Include taxes, site costs and so on????
Anyway.
$2.07 per sticker. Times, basically, four. $8.28. That's affordable and also enough to do this same product in the same quantity and quality again while still making profit.
Assuming you sell all 100 stickers, that would be $828 in sales… It's not all profit and a good chunk of that is going back into the business, but honestly? That's better than I was planning. Get my hours of work paid, the material and production costs are covered, plus a little more.
God, this makes me want to make those stickers I been thinking of. Thanks, now I'm restless.
Love the curtain bangs on you!! Also great video, i'll try to implement these tips
Thank you for your video! I feel more encouraged to restart my new small business! I do like designing and draw cute characters. I hope I can spread more customers and create trust. I stopped because of depression and anxiety and algorithm really shut my posts, but I will try again.
Oh my gosh! Girl you look so good โค
