Hi and welcome to Auspol Explained. Today’s video is explaining the basics of how government is formed, how to vote, and what the Senate and the House of Representatives are. This will be a great crash course for anyone with limited knowledge of how Australian politics works.

Way to lose an audience brother 😢
This is super helpful! Thanks!
Just a heads: up you don't need a coalition/party to form government. There's no laws to instil this power in the Governor General. If the elected are happy to have a round table affair then the GG should not interfere. The GG can only dissolve the Parliament and call a new election, but it would be very wrong to do so if trying to enforce the two party system stronghold. Thanks for your video!

I’ve learned a lot. Thank you.
12:30 Upper House because Upper House in UK is the House of Lords (Upper class Gentry), and Lower House in UK in House of Commons (Everyone else, lower classes). Well, at least that makes sense.
Great. Thanks❤❤❤❤
Lots of comments here from Millenials that don't understand simple shit that you should of learnt in primary school….no wonder we fucked.
Hi David, we spoke a lot at the WA election booth in Joondalup. My husband Trevor is running for Federal now. Good on you for courageously putting these much needed videos together. Might be worth getting on six news? ❤😊
