1. No, you seal the back so there is never a smell or places for roaches live. If its wobbling you need to check the flange, new wax set the shims and ensure toilet is level or tilts back slightly then tighten gently. Next you grout in place and tighten bolts more don't crack the toilet.
   If the toilet seal ends up leaking somehow you are gonna know don't leave the back open.

4. Caulking is meant to prevent gases from entering home if wax ring fails. So leaving back open is against code.

7. I'd add that the gap in caulk should be down stream. my floor isn't level is it leaks to the left.
