I didn't use plyers on the bottom of the drain. Hope that's ok
Do you still have to use Plumber's putty for the no caulk unit? I find it spins while tightening the gasket set screw, even after the locking ring has been tightened
How much pipe should be coming up through the drain
This was the best tutorial I ever seen
Needed to double see to check what my old one was missing.. no wonder it was leaking.. thx
The back of that exact same plumbers putty container says
DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC.
I know this is a dumb question for a plumber (but I'm a former electrician so I'm allowed at least 1 right?) but I'm replacing a tub with this 1-piece shower base. Do I need a vent and/or P-trap on the drain?
If so, how do I install a vent for this ?
I have very limited space with my drain pipe – but I think I can manage a trap if absolutely necessary. My vent stack is just outside the shower base area in the same wall as the drain – about 24" or so from the drain.
SILICONE!!
I did lose my metal tighten ring, luckily I was removing the trap.
Im still getting water leaking through my rubber seal around 2" pipe
