Long hot and dry summers are great if you like the beach – but they’re not so great for our water conservation. Some areas are prone to drought, and some areas have seen water restrictions as a result. So, the smart way to get around these and help conserve water, is to install a water tank or rain barrel. You can collect rainwater from your roof, and use it on your garden, or wash your car. Not only will you be reducing your environmental footprint, and increasing your self-sufficiency and sustainability – you might also notice a reduction in your water bills. Here’s how to install a couple of simple systems yourself, Easy As with Mitre 10.

Still waiting for the lesson on vacuuming out the tank….
