►1 lb Ribeye Steak, trimmed and thinly sliced
►1/2 tsp sea salt, or to taste
►1/2 tsp black pepper, or to taste
►1 large sweet onion, diced
►8 slices provolone cheese (mild, not aged provolone)
►4 Hoagie Rolls
►2 Tbsp unsalted butter softened
►1 garlic clove, pressed
►2-4 Tbsp mayo, or to taste

  1. in what world is that a "Classic" Philly Cheesesteak??? I'm sure it's delicious, but that is nothing even close to a philly cheesesteak. like not any version of any cheesesteak made in or near Philadelphia. Just call it what it is, your version of a cheesesteak sandwich and leave Philly out of it.

    I’m from Australia and I make these all the time for the cafe I cafe I own , I also like to add a red and a green capsicum diced small the same as the onion ( bell pepper ) i believe you call them , i then top with American cheese sauce . Another option that I make the same recipe and put them on a flatbread and fold in half .
