Is there a version using meringue powder instead of egg whites ?
I mean, I’m aware of all the recipes out there using meringue powder, I just mean in regard to this particular channel and this host/chef/baker/and their amazingly easy to follow and understand way of breaking it down
My issue with royal icing is my consistency, it doesn’t matter how perfect it seems, when i pipe the flooding batch, and the bordering batch, the consistency is always off, either too wet or not wet enough, and for the life of me, I can’t fix it without ruining it.
I use a spray bottle, I keep wet paper towel to cover the bowls as I go about separating the icing for coloring and for making my different consistencies, and I use the spray bottle to add in more water to make sure I’m using as little and even spreading of moisture as possible until I get the right consistency. But without fail, after I bag everything , the consistency never ends up being the same as it was acting before bagging
Drives me crazy
But I’m not sure if the instructions for the original recipe using egg whites is going to work in the same way as using meringue powder
And this is like 3 years old

Can you add almond extract instead of water to thin?
